Strategic Compensation - Unilever case study
Unilever plc is a firm believer that performance-related pay will be a critical success factor in the 21st century. However, following Board concern that this type of compensation had not delivered against expectations, a new 'Integrated Approach' to organizational design, reward management and career planning was introduced which, according to Brian Dive, Senior Vice President Remuneration, aligns "work levels and management competencies to business strategy through a seamless set of logical principles".
